Some pairs of shoes that I bought from a thrift store and turned into pieces of art. I submitted both of these to an art competition in high school and one of them won. The first is entitled, “Femme Fatale.” It was obviously inspired by the expression, “beauty is pain.” I spray painted the bottom part of the shoe gold and covered the body of it in nails. I also added fur to the inside of the shoe. “Femme Fatale” won the art competition. The second is entitled, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” It was inspired by Elton John. The name is a nod to Elton’s Yellow Brick Road album and the shoe bares a resemblance to the ones that he wore on the album cover. I spray painted the entire shoe pink and covered it in gems and rhinestones. I also added gold laces to the shoe.

The third piece: a headpiece I made using black feathers that I spray painted with silver to create an ombre effect. It was done as an accompaniment to my black swan evening wear dress.
